Human vs. Nature (Part II)

I had earlier on posted about extinction, that it was a non issue. I had a change in thought. I took a step back and realized that there is need to protect what God has created. I have grown spiritually from where I was then.

In my understanding, poaching is not good in any aspect. It is breaking the law as well as exploiting natural creations for selfish gains. This is unacceptable.

Sure extinction is inevitable, but it should not be accelerated. Perhaps the reason I said that the organizations that spend money to protect endangered species were directing money to unnecessary projects is because I did not know the importance of some of these endangered animals.

I am sure however that they cannot be useless. You might find that some of the cures of the worlds 'incurable' diseases lie in these animals. You might find that the animal that a man kills to sell its skin might contain what would bring great leaps in the development of the cure to some of these illnesses. It would be ironic for the poachers affected with these illnesses to kill what would be their cure. Anyway, that's just my imagination, but the point is that they aren't useless. If the poaching trend continues and they are extinct, it will be too late to research on the importance of these animals.

I support the initiative of the organizations, looking after God's creation which majority of the humans have neglected. It would however be a good idea to work on creating awareness of their progress in conserving these animals. There are many people that would like to be involved in the protection of endangered species but little is known about them.

I would be willing to keep the critically endangered black rhino in my back yard. Wouldn't you?
