Shadow

You were once a stranger, and the burden of hope has since clouded my skies

A hope that maybe we’re alike, that you’d love me and that it would make me feel good

Hope, a burden that ignores the reality and sneers at the facts.

Yet somehow in my mind I have already seen us together.

Sh*t now I am worried I’m beginning to sound like a stalker. It sucks that you don’t like me like I like you. But then again I can’t say I’m shocked.

After all my life has always been a life of settling, of not getting what I wanted... of being within reach of what I value dearly only to totally lose it at the last minute.

I am foolish for expecting this to be different. At least I can find comfort in the familiarity of this mocking feeling.

But if it worked out, I don’t even know what I’d do. If you were interested, would you be willing to be patient with me? To be there, and help me manoeuvre this unfamiliar territory called love. Would you make sure it’s safe for me to be myself? Safe to be ugly and weak and vulnerable? Because I assure you without a shadow of a doubt... that I would do that for you!

Pursuit of Freedom

Surely it's true that the body, no, the soul craves freedom!
I wonder how it feels for the people who have learnt to accept what happens to them. How did you suppress your soul?
My soul has been tormenting me. It wants to be free but I am limiting it. It wants to achieve so much. It wants to make an impact. It wants to Change The World! But I am holding it back. My body seems free. But my soul is smarter. It knows the body is weak, scared even. The body cares about how the world sees it and conforms, but the soul, it sees the world and wants to shape it.
What is sad is I end up being the battlefield. Going through each day with uncertainty and anxiety, walking on eggshells. Trying to change the world while at the same time conforming to it.
We do not have all the answers and we cannot know everything.
There is a middle ground, so I hear.
A safety in the battlefield
For there to be freedom there must be war

Christian Duty

I came to a realization that religion is a job. It is a job to be a Christian. It is our duty to share our knowledge with others and address the ignorance of the world. Christians have not been fulfilling this job description, and that is why the generation is suffering. You see, all religions are jobs.

Devil worshippers have been busy doing their job, which is to spread 'anti-christianity'. They do this by imprinting in the minds of humans that certain things are okay. They create in people an idea that fornication is okay, it is okay to steal, it is okay to love earthly possessions, it is okay to hate, it is okay to kill, it is okay to have unnatural relations with same sex, and okay to use drugs, etc.

As a result, because we are free to make choices, we choose things that are not Godly, because we have seen that, maybe it is okay after all.

As workers for the Kingdom of God, we need to pray, we must pray not to get brainwashed in this way. We must pray to be able to identify such attempts to manipulate us into allowing immoral practices.

The agents of the enemy have infiltrated the music industry as well as the film. The videos we watch, unknown to us, create in our minds an allowance of immoral behaviour. We need to be careful. People sing songs that do not even make sense, but we find ourselves tapping our feet. These songs are not always safe for the sake of God's kingdom. We need to be alert.
We need to question things that happen around us. What is this song trying to promote. Is it glorifying our King? Or is it promoting prostitution, fornication, alcoholism? The salvation of our nation and world heavily depends on our morals. To be men and women of integrity we need to secure ourselves from the negative effects of the devil's attempts. When we realize them, we need to warn and inform those close to us.

The devil has hidden his agenda in popular culture that has grown to influence our current generation. His message of anti-christianity has been hidden in beautiful actors/actresses/artists and in highly rated movies and music. We really need to be careful.

We need to WORK for our religion, with more vigour than the devil's agent are. We have God on our side, a limitless God. Is there anything difficult for us? Let us pray to our Father who will definitely help us.

1 Peter 3:12
"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

Please let us take our responsibility as Soldiers of Christ, and do our work!

Human vs. Nature (Part II)

I had earlier on posted about extinction, that it was a non issue. I had a change in thought. I took a step back and realized that there is need to protect what God has created. I have grown spiritually from where I was then.

In my understanding, poaching is not good in any aspect. It is breaking the law as well as exploiting natural creations for selfish gains. This is unacceptable.

Sure extinction is inevitable, but it should not be accelerated. Perhaps the reason I said that the organizations that spend money to protect endangered species were directing money to unnecessary projects is because I did not know the importance of some of these endangered animals.

I am sure however that they cannot be useless. You might find that some of the cures of the worlds 'incurable' diseases lie in these animals. You might find that the animal that a man kills to sell its skin might contain what would bring great leaps in the development of the cure to some of these illnesses. It would be ironic for the poachers affected with these illnesses to kill what would be their cure. Anyway, that's just my imagination, but the point is that they aren't useless. If the poaching trend continues and they are extinct, it will be too late to research on the importance of these animals.

I support the initiative of the organizations, looking after God's creation which majority of the humans have neglected. It would however be a good idea to work on creating awareness of their progress in conserving these animals. There are many people that would like to be involved in the protection of endangered species but little is known about them.

I would be willing to keep the critically endangered black rhino in my back yard. Wouldn't you?

why then are the good people always dying?

This question is among the atheist's favourite. If christians are so blessed why do they die?... If God loves them so much why does He let them die?

Understandably, to most it may seem like they are dying, whereas in reality, they are finding new lives. They are beginning to live. 'John 3:16, says those who believe in Jesus will never die, but will have everlasting life.

I think that they are killed by the evil one to prevent them from getting people into the kingdom of God. They are a threat to the devil's scheme of getting people to turn against God, to avoid God.

The devil entices us with things that we have grown to uphold, money, luxury lifestyles, popularity and fame.
The devil is weak and cannot defeat God. Therefore, he fights dirty. He knows that most people would do anything for these things. He makes them available easily for those who seek them, and they end up believing that there is no God. That you get what you work for. This pleases the devil.

Then there are those who have been given understanding by God, who realise this scheme. They testify against earthly riches that draw you from true wealth. These people are a threat to the devil's agenda. When they win people over into God's Kingdom, the devil panics. He tries to stop them. He makes their lives miserable, for the weak hearted to see. They see that people who follow God are poor and suffer, while others are wealthy. They distance themselves from God.

The strong hearted will accept this suffering and embrace it, because it counts in the Kingdom of God. When the time comes, the strong hearted will receive their reward, and the weak hearted will also get their dues.

There's is always a bigger picture that not everyone sees. People shut out the reality of the world ending. They choose to live like life won't end. I encourage you to think about this and get closer to God. Pray for strength through suffering.
Go read from the book of Job.

Human Vs. Nature

Extinction. What's really wrong with this? I mean extinction is inevitable, no matter how many organizations are formed, or how many laws are made. Survival of the fittest - the law of the jungle. Some of the animals that people are actually talking about, most people have never heard of, and probably would have no use of. Eventually, after spending millions, billions even, on 'conserving endangered species' they will all die and become extinct. People who are killing these endangered species should just stop the poaching nonsense. We don't need to spend money trying to protect something that with the right mindset can do for free. If people stopped poaching and polluting/destroying natural habitats, and they can, then funds would be directed to more serious issues, that affect humans directly, whilst protecting the environment without competing with nature.
The world would be a better place if everyone was a conservationist.

Once Upon a Time by Gabriel Okara

Once upon a time, son,
they used to laugh with their
hearts
and laugh with their eyes:
but now they only laugh with their
teeth,
while their ice-block-cold eyes
search behind my shadow.
There was a time indeed
they used to shake hands with
their hearts:
but that’s gone, son.
Now they shake hands without
hearts
while their left hands search
my empty pockets.
‘Feel at home!’ ‘Come again’:
they say, and when I come
again and feel
at home, once, twice,
there will be no thrice-
for then I find doors shut on me.
So I have learned many things,
son.
I have learned to wear many faces
like dresses – homeface,
officeface, streetface, hostface,
cocktailface, with all their
conforming smiles
like a fixed portrait smile.
And I have learned too
to laugh with only my teeth
and shake hands without my heart.
I have also learned to
say,’Goodbye’,
when I mean ‘Good-riddance’:
to say ‘Glad to meet you’,
without being glad; and to say ‘It’s
been
nice talking to you’, after being
bored.
But believe me, son.
I want to be what I used to be
when I was like you. I want
to unlearn all these muting things.
Most of all, I want to relearn
how to laugh, for my laugh in the
mirror
shows only my teeth like a snake’s
bare fangs!
So show me, son,
how to laugh; show me how
I used to laugh and smile
once upon a time when I was like
you.
